I'm a XOXO Girl!

I am very excited to announce that I made the XOXO Girl Design Team! XOXO GIRLS are here to show you how to be rebels....in the scrapbooking world that is. The XOXO Girls will each be given the same list of orders that will initiate their scrapbooking layouts. On the 1st and 15th of every month (starting in January 2010) their scrapbooking layouts will be posted for you to scraplift. Your challenge will be to scraplift one (or all) of the XOXO Girls different layouts each month and link them up by the last day of that specific month.

What does scraplift mean?

Basically it means copying others' completed layouts in whole or in part for your own personal use by adopting design elements and ideas that you like and incorporating them into your own creations.

The design team members will be revealed by the end of this month and the first layouts will be posted on January 1st. Scraplift your way out of that creative block!

Ch{all}enge Masters Holiday Blog Hop-Day 2

Supplies:
Cardstock: Bazzill
Paper Scraps: My Mind's Eye
Alpha Stickers: American Crafts
Button and Star: ChatterBox
Gems: Prima
Pen: Zig
Adhesive: Mod Podge
Miscellaneous: Ink

I created this layout for a Technique Challenge at Ch{all}enge Masters. Tired of spending upwards of $2.00 per sheet for 12 x 12 designer papers? Make your own for a fraction of the price! All you need is a little creativity and you can make your own papers that are just as beautiful as the ones you buy in the store. For my layout I created patterned papers by printing the words from a favorite Dr. Seuss book onto a piece of cardstock, tore scraps of different colored papers and glued them onto a piece of cardstock with Mod Podge, and stamped circles using an empty paper towel roll and an ink pad onto a piece of cardstock. My fellow Design Master, Kim Score, created beautiful holiday themed papers using stamps, glitter and markers. Come join the Technique Group to learn this technique as well as be inspired by the talented members of the Ch{all}enge Master community. A new technique and challenge will be posted the first Sunday of every month. Complete a layout and upload it to the gallery by the end of the month to be entered into the random prize drawing.

Welcome to day two of the first ever Ch{all}enge Masters Holiday Blog Hop! The Ch{all}enge Masters Blog was your 1st stop and you are now at the 4th stop of the hop. To be elligible for the Ch{all}enge Masters Holiday Blog Hop Prize, you must post a comment on each blog. After you visit and comment on all the blogs in the hop, be sure to go back to the Ch{all}enge Master's blog and post when you are finished. Thanks for hopping with us! Ch{all}enge Masters Holiday Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the first ever Ch{all}enge Masters Holiday Blog Hop! The Ch{all}enge Masters Blog was your 1st stop and you are now at the 4th stop of the hop.

I want to share the wreath that I made for the Altered Group November Challenge. Many thanks to Danielle for her awesome tutorial! One of the childhood memories I have about the holiday season centers around decorative doorknobs. I was born in the 80s and craft shows were kind of a big deal, especially in my house. I remember that my sister, brother and myself all had holiday doorknob covers. I don't have many holiday decorations of my own, so I thought a doorknob wreath would be perfect. Thanks for stopping by!

To be eligible for the Ch{all}enge Masters Holiday Blog Hop Prize, you must post a comment on each blog. After you visit and comment on all the blogs in the hop, be sure to go back to the Ch{all}enge Master's blog and post when you are finished. Thanks for hopping with us! Your next stop is Colleen's blog.

Creative Cookbooking's Thanksgiving Contest

I am thankful that I am able to share a meal with my entire family, even if it is only a couple times a year. I altered a Prima notecard box into a recipe holder using some paper from Cookbookin'. I am always traveling over the holidays, and being the cook in my family, I needed some way to travel with my recipes. This box is a perfect fit for my recipe cards and is also small enough to fit in my suitcase.

Join the chefs at Creative Cookbooking for a Thanksgiving Contest! For this contest use fall colors, journaling of some kind, and an altered embellishment on a layout or altered project about what you are thankful for. Layouts or altered items must be new and posted in the Creative Cookbooking Flickr Gallery with your name and "Thankful Contest" in the description. Please also link your layout to the challenge thread so we can all admire your work. Participants will be playing for an awesome prize provided by Cookbookin.com and the winning layout/project will be featured on the Creative Cookbooking blog. The design team will select the winning layout/project by voting for their favorite. The deadline for this contest is November 30 at midnight, EST time.
