Skylark - Meg's Garden Guest Designer

Paper: Meg's Garden
Letters: American Crafts
Flowers: Prima
Ink: Ranger

I'm thrilled to be a guest designer for Meg's Garden!   The gorgeous Meg's Garden papers are printed on silk paper and are so beautiful in real life.  I love the soft flowers and floral designs that are present in the Le Belle Jardin Collection.  I used a piece of the French Bird Cage patterned paper (P6297) for the base of this layout. I used the coordinating French Bird Cage A4 sheet (P6297A) and the A4 sheet Collage Cartouche (3402A) from The French Garden Collection for the layers under the photo as well as the flowers and leaves that drape the side of the photo and embellish the birdcage.

My daughter loves to sing. That fact, along with the birdcage on the paper, helped to inspire the title of this layout. I used some of the lyrics from the song "Skylark" for my journaling which reads, "My heart is riding on your wings."

Please visit the Meg's Garden blog to see the other layout I'm sharing in my guest designer post, and make sure you visit the Meg's Garden Store to check out what's new.  If you live in the US like me and would like to purchase some of these beautiful papers State-side, I ordered my papers from C'est Magnifique.  Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Child's Play: Three-Wheeler CP-1254
Child's Play: It's A Breeze CP-1251
Child's Play: Elements Stickers CP-2210
Child's Play: Punch-Out Sheet CP-4010

Ribbon: Offray

I'm excited to share my first layout for Moxxie!  I thought this photo of my nephew fit perfectly on the Child's Play "Walk in the Park" patterned paper. The paper is fabulous so I didn't want to do too much. Sometimes something simple is all you need.

I had fun embellishing a kite string. I added a bit of dimension to the page by raising the kite and a cloud off the paper with some adhesive foam.  The vibrant, fun colors and designs of the Child's Play collection are perfect to scrapbook the photos of your family and friends in their outdoor play.  The Moxxie team would love to see how you are using this line, so please stop by the Moxxie facebook page and share your work!

Moxxie is having their first ever warehouse sale, and it's going to be huge!

Altered Dominoes - Your Memories Here

Paper: Prima
Art Tiles: Prima
Pearls: Prima
Paint: Shimmerz, Ranger
Modeling Paste: Blick
Other: Dominoes

The Prima blog is a great source of inspiration for me.  Heidi Kelley's Domino Necklace caught my eye several months ago.  My last order from Your Memories Here included a copy of Vol. 1 of the Prima Marketing magazine My Prima Place. The magazine includes sketches, inspiration, designer freebie pages and step-by-step tutorials.  Heidi's Domino Necklace tutorial is included in this issue so I thought I would try creating my own altered dominoes.  I'm really pleased with how they turned out and I'm thinking of making key chains out of them.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! If you missed out on the Prima Winter Release from YMH, the Winter CHA Prima Grab Bags are once again available in the YMH Store! There are still a few copies of the Prima Art-Zine at Your Memories Here and they'll be glad to send one out to you with your Prima order.

Memorial Day is at the end of the month, so we're celebrating with a playlist of memorial songs at Scrap It With a Song. The current song on the play list is "For Good" from the musical Wicked. Magnetic Photo Frame - Momenta D-Lite

Momenta Supplies:
Free To Be Me Super Paper Pad - PA-2263
Free To Be Me Puffy Messages - ST-4698
Free To Be Me Mini Clear Peace Stickers - ST-4846
Layered Kaleidoscope Stickers - ST-4726

Other Supplies:
Magnetic Frame - Flexi-Frame

The Momenta Free To Be Me Collection is one of my favorites.  I recently redecorated my daughter's room and this collection has been most helpful for several small room decor projects.  I decided to freshen up an old magnetic frame and the flowers and peace signs were so fitting 5 going on 16 year old daughter.

I covered the frame with a piece of patterned paper from the Free To Be Me Super Paper Pad.  I secured small magnets to the back of several colorful stickers to use as photo anchors.

The Clear Layered Stickers are my favorite Momenta embellishments.  I just love the glitter and glaze on this sticker!

There are dozens of Momenta paper collections available that would be perfect for a project like this.  Try personalizing a frame for a recent graduate, favorite teacher or special loved one or pet.  The photo is held to the frame by magnets, which makes swapping photos a snap!

Hi Gorgeous - Your Memories Here

Paper: Prima
Flowers: Prima
Chipboard: Prima
Lace: Prima
Cotton Tape: Prima
Stamp: Prima
Ink: Ranger, Tsukineko

I love Friday!  Not only is it the beginning of the weekend, but I also get to share my project for Your Memories Here.  I've been working with the Prima Almanac collection for several weeks now, and I have amassed quite a pile of scraps.  The patterned papers in this collection are filled with fun designs and small prints that I like to cut out and layer.  Sometimes I get carried away and cut more small embellishments than I can use on one project, so I decided to put some of them to use on this card.

The chipboard stickers in this collection are coated with glitter and glaze, perfect for adding a touch of glossy shimmer without the mess and drying time!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! If you missed out on the Prima Winter Release from YMH, the Winter CHA Prima Grab Bags are once again available in the YMH Store!

Remember Tag - Your Memories Here

Tag: Avery
Journaling Card, Leaves, Art Tiles, Wood Ticket, Stamps: Prima
Ribbon: May Arts
Ink: Ranger, Tsukineko
Markers, Stickles: Ranger
Mist: Tattered Angels
Other: Book Page, Twine

I created this tag for Your Memories Here Designs.  My set of Distress Markers arrived last week and I had a lot of fun using them on this project.

The Prima Meadow Lark collection includes several fantastic floral stamps that I thought would be fun to use as embellishments. I stamped several flowers onto a piece of watercolor paper using StazOn ink.  Using the brush tip end of the markers, I colored my flowers using Spun Sugar, Worn Lipstick, Dusty Concord, Milled Lavender, Tumbled Glass and Mustard Seed.

Once I added a splash of color to each flower, I ran a wet paintbrush over each bloom to spread the color over the petals.

Here are my flowers once dry.  I added a light coat of Iridescent Gold Glimmer Mist to the petals and some Wild Honey Stickles to the flower centers.

I added twine and a wood ticket to bring some of the outdoors onto my tag.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  If you missed out on the Prima Winter Release from YMH, the Winter CHA Prima Grab Bags are once again available in the YMH Store!

Kusudama Paper Ball Tutorial - SNR Magazine

A kusudama ball is a made with twelve kusudama flowers. Kusudama balls can make an impressive table or hanging decoration. The kusudama ball may look complex, but comes together with just a series of simple folds and some glue. With the myriad of patterned papers available, kusudama balls can be easily personalized for any occasion.

60 3x3 inch paper squares
Rhinestones (optional)

Step One: Starting with one piece of paper, fold the square in half, bringing the bottom corner up to the top, creating a triangle. Next, fold both the left and the right corners up to the top of the triangle, creating a square.

Step Two: Take the sides just folded, and fold them down to the edge of the square. Next, carefully open up the folds just created, and press them down flat. Fold in the small triangular flaps that overhang each side.

Step Three: Fold the triangular pieces on each side up along the center crease. Apply adhesive to one side of the paper and bring the sides together to form one petal. Repeat this process for the remaining pieces of paper to form the rest of the petals. Glue five petals together to make one flower. Continue gluing petals together to make 12 flowers.

Step Four: To assemble the ball, divide the flowers into two piles of six flowers. Start to glue the flowers together one petal at a time. Gently hold the flowers together until the glue is dry. Glue the remaining four flowers around the first flower to create one side of the ball. Repeat this process with the other six flowers.

Step Five: Glue the two halves of the ball together. Add rhinestones to the center of each flower.

Flowers: Prima
Rhinestones: Prima
Stickles: Ranger
Ink: Ranger, Tsukineko
Stamps: Fancy Pants
Mist: Tattered Angels
Other: Lace

Sketch: Nadia Cannizzo

I created this layout for the May Sketch Challenge at C'est Magnifique. After drooling over my beautiful Meg's Garden papers for several weeks, I finally got the nerve to cut into one. The cherubs and flowers on this paper were just perfect for this sweet photo of my niece.

Each 12x12 paper comes with a coordinating piece of 4x12 paper that is perfect for fussy cuts!  I cut the banner from the 4x12 sheet as well as the small flowers that I added to the rhinestone flourishes.

I love the red flourishes that are printed along the edge of this paper.  I mimicked the flourish design on a piece of chipboard with some stamps and added more of the small flowers that I fussy cut from the 4x12 sheet of paper.

You have until the end of May to link up your layout if you want to play along.  Here is Nadia's gorgeous sketch.  I used the mirror image for my page.  Thanks for stopping by today!

This is a team effort and winners are judged by the entire Design Team, not by just one individual.  Check out the May inspiration pieces HERE.

My baby girl loves butterflies and bling, just like me!  I thought it would be fun to add some sparkly butterflies to this patterned paper.  I used a Momenta stencil and a light coat of ink to add the butterflies to my page.

I then used the stencil along with mica flake to add some sparkle to the butterfly wings.  Mica flake is one of my new favorite mediums.  It gives the shine of glitter without any of the mess and it's not coming off of this paper any time soon!

Here's what the butterfly looks like once dry.

Mom - Your Memories Here

Paper: Prima
Letters: Prima
Notecard: Prima
Flowers: Prima
Leaves: Prima
Rhinestones: Prima
Butterflies: Prima
Chipboard: Prima
Resist Canvas: Prima
Packaging: Prima
Mist: Tattered Angels

I created this layout for Your Memories Here Designs using the gorgeous Prima Meadow Lark collection.  The pastel floral and botanical patterns are perfect for pretty spring pages. Mother's Day is fast approaching so I decided to scrap one of my favorite photos of my Mom.  She's younger than me in this photo and so beautiful!

The flowers in the Meadow Lark collection are the perfect way to add a splash of color to a page.  I colored pieces of resist canvas with Tattered Angels Mists in Sun Sisters, Pink Bubblegum, Black Cherry and Fully Purple.  The "so happy" tag is cut from Prima packaging.

I added my title to a piece of chipboard.  I just love the texture of the alphabet stickers.  The small rhinestones I used to embellish the chipboard came packaged with the rhinestone flourish I added to this page and are perfect for small accents.

Thanks for stopping by today! Be sure to visit the Your Memories Here Store for all your Prima needs!
