Believe Mini Canvas - Tando Creative

Hi! I'm sharing a mini canvas that I created for the minis challenge on the Tando Creative Design Blog. Finding time to create can sometimes be a real challenge. This small 2x2-inch canvas is the perfect size to express oneself when short on time. Simply print a digital image similar to this one created by Susan K. Weckesser and adhere it to a Canvas Corp 2x2 Stretched Burlap Canvas. Mist a Mini Butterfly with your choice of spray ink, I used Tattered Angels Fully Purple Glimmer Mist, and add it over the photo. I love that Tando Chipboard can absorb a lot of mist without falling apart! I finished the canvas by wrapping it with some multicolored twine.

You can find this chipboard and more in the Tando Creative Retail Store! We'd love to have you join the Minis Challenge! To be in with a chance of winning some great Tando goodies of your choice, please make a piece based on our weekly themes and link your project, not just your blog, using the inlinkz tool located at the top of the Tando Blog. You don't have to use any Tando product, but, if you do, you will be entered into the draw twice! There are no limits to how many times you enter, however, we do request that you only enter your piece for 5 challenges. We look forward to seeing your creations!

Magnetic Cocktail Recipe Tin - Canvas Corp

DIY Magnetic Cocktail Recipe Tin by Dana Tatar for Canvas Corp Brands

Hi! I'm sharing a fun project that I created for Canvas Corp today. The Creative Crew was challenged to turning anything into a cooking related item. I had a blast re-purposing an empty tea tin into a bold recipe container for my favorite summer drinks with Tattered Angels Decor & DIY Paint and the new Canvas Corp Mixology collection. I added magnets to the back of the tin and stuck this container onto the side of my fridge for easy accessibility! While is was crafting I also made some custom magnets. This project is quick, easy and fun!

Brothers - Tando Creative

Hi! I'm sharing a layout that I created for the Anything Goes theme this week on the Tando Creative Design Blog today. I had a blast making this page as a gift for my Sister's friend with the help of a sketch by Kristine Davidson. I have two daughters, so I'm thrilled when I get to scrap some boys, especially when they are this adorable!

I cut a portion of the Square Grid and painted it with acrylic paint to add some fun dimension under the photo.

I had fun inking up pieces from the Grab Bag of Stars to use as colorful embellishments.

You can find this chipboard and more in the Tando Creative Retail Store! We'd love to have you join the Anything Goes Challenge! To be in with a chance of winning some great Tando goodies of your choice, please make a piece based on our weekly themes and link your project, not just your blog, using the inlinkz tool located at the top of the Tando Blog. C'est Magnifique May Kit Projects

Personal Supplies: Acrylic Paint, Stamps

Hi! I'm sharing the layouts and mini album that I created with the C'est Magnifique May Main Kit, May Flower and Embellishment Add-Ons and the May Magnifique Mixed Media Kit. I have to say that I absolutely love this kit! There are 32 pieces of patterned paper in this kit and they are all different. The mix of floral prints, dots, stripes and doilies in a colorful palette was super fun to work with. If you're an artist that likes to color with the entire box of crayons, this kit is for you!

I'm a big fan of fussy cutting and snipped colorful blooms and leaves from the patterned papers to help fill out my flower clusters on this layout that features a photo of my niece. I used the stencil from the Mixed Media Kit with blue acrylic paint to add the Persian Gate design to the background of this page.

I used the Clearsnap Colorbox Sky Blue Pigment Brush Pad to stamp flowers onto the background of the page. I then lightly brushed the Prima Gold Mica Powder over the wet ink for a shimmery finish.

 Personal Supplies: Gel Medium, Stencil

I used one of my favorite photos of my daughters for this layout. I mixed Prima Gold Mica Powder with gel medium and then spread it over a stencil to create the two gold doilies on the base of this page.

I love the bee stickers included in the Kaisercraft Forget Me Not Sticker Sheet and added them around my flower clusters.

This Kaisercraft specialty die-cut paper is my favorite item from the May Main Kit. I played up the flower theme by adding more flowers and a photo of my beautiful Sister-in-Law.

I used a piece of flower packaging as a photo mat that I dressed up a bit with some decorative brass corners.

I created several flower clusters with stitched die-cuts, wooden flourished and glittery roses.

I added a title to this page with the different alphabet stickers in the Main Kit.

Personal Supplies: Tim Holtz Hardware
Lastly, I altered the Prima Gatefold Journal from the Mixed Media Kit. I covered the entire album, inside and out, with patterned paper and then embellished the cover with die-cuts, flowers, leaves, buttons and colorful twine. The only thing I need to finish it are pictures!

I hope I have inspired you! Thanks so much for stopping by today! The May Add-Ons and the Mixed Media Kit are available for purchase now from the C'est Magnifique Store. The May Main Kit will be available on April 30th. I'll be sharing one more layout for the May Sketch Challenge on May 1st, so please come back then!

Hello Bokeh Background Card by Dana Tatar for Clearsnap and Tombow

I created a fun card with some of my favorite Clearsnap and Tombow products. Think outside the box-shaped ink pad and use Donna Salazar circular Mix'd Media Inx pads to create a beautiful bokeh background. Add Donna Salazar Fairy Dust Glitter to Tombow Adhesive Dots to add a pop of glittery color to your project!

Donna Salazar Mix'd Media Inx for Bokeh Background Effect by Dana Tatar for Clearsnap

I love that the Donna Salazar Mix'd Media Inx pads are circular in shape! I've been on a bokeh kick lately and these ink pads are fantastic for creating bokeh backgrounds! I selected Mix'd Media Inx in Denim, Chiffon, Pewter and Patina along with a piece of white cardstock.

Donna Salazar Mix'd Media Inx Application for Bokeh Background Effect by Dana Tatar for Clearsnap

I started with the lightest color of Mix'd Media Inx and gently pressed and swirled the ink pad directly onto the cardstock in a random fashion. I repeated this process for the other colors of ink until the cardstock was completely covered.

Tombow Xtreme Permanent Adhesive for Cardmaking by Dana Tatar

I used Tombow Xtreme Permanent Adhesive to mount my bokeh pattern on to a piece of cardstock and then on to a patterned paper card base.

Donna Salazar Fairy Dust Glittered Adhesive Dots by Dana Tatar

I applied Tombow Adhesive Dots randomly over my bokeh design. The adhesive is colored so it is easy to see, but in this case, the color worked great for my design! I covered each adhesive dot with Donna Salazar Fairy Dust Glitter. This fine glitter formula allowed the colored adhesive to shine through!

Securing Embellishments with Tombow Multi Mono Liquid Glue by Dana Tatar

I finished this card by adding a paper die-cut, chipboard sentiment and fabric flower, which I secured with Tombow Multi Mono Liquid Glue. This glue works amazing on almost all surfaces!

Bokeh Canvas Tutorial for Kids - Canvas Corp

Bokeh Canvases A Kids Craft Tutorial by Dana Tatar

Hi! I'm sharing a project tutorial that I created for Canvas Corp today. The Creative Crew was challenged to share project ideas that kids can create. I adapted this project idea from a project that I found on the Fiskars blog. Creating colorful bokeh patterned canvases is fun and easy with Canvas Corp Tissuestock and Canvases and Tattered Angles Glimmer Mist! Simply color Tissuestock with your favorite colors of Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist to create custom specialty tissue that bleeds when spritzed with water. Then, simply apply the colored tissue to wet canvas to create vibrant, shimmery works of art that any parent would be proud to display.

Finding Myself Collage - Gauche Alchemy

Hi! I'm sharing my take on the Gauche Alchemy April Challenge today. I just loved the graphic images, the patterns and the color in the inspiration piece. I immediately knew that I wanted to create a collage. My drawing and collage skills are extremely limited, but I didn't let that stop me! I used the packaging from one of my daughter's Monster High dolls as a starting point. I pasted colored shapes that I cut from magazines and some strips of washi tape over the original artwork on the box and came up with this piece. The collage was totally flat, so I added some dimension with a 3D bow, staples and rhinestones. The text is a Marilyn Monroe quote and something that I relate to: I'm trying to find myself. Sometimes that's not easy.

Thanks for stopping by today! We'd love to see how this challenge inspires you so please share your work with us!
